Job Description

 

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a full-time administrative Faculty position as the SNAP Ed Coordinator. The position will be located in Clark County, Las Vegas, Nevada. This position will coordinate and oversee the administration of the University of Nevada, Reno Extension statewide Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program (SNAP) nutrition education and policy, systems and environmental (PSE) change interventions in implementing counties under the supervision of the Associate Director of Extension. The SNAP Ed Coordinator will have the primary responsibility for the coordination of SNAP-Ed work plan among Extension specialists, county-based staff and faculty, sub recipient agencies and subcontracts; application submission, and reporting in accordance with SNAP-Ed grant requirements; and will assist with planning, guidance, and evaluation.

 

Required Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience; or a Master’s Degree and one year of related work experience.

 

Related Experience: Grant work, coordinating complex government programs, working with nutrition-based programs

 

Preferred Certification and Licensure

 

Registered Dietitian (RD) or Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) credential (or ability to complete within 6 months) and licensed to practice in the state of Nevada, as required by law.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Knowledge of general methods and techniques of social research, planning, and evaluation.

 

Knowledge of database structure and functions.

 

Ability to make oral and written presentations on the analysis of a project.

 

Ability to communicate with professional and administrative personnel.

 

Skills in advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and Google applications.

 

Ability to use data analysis software (SAS, Stata, SPSS, etc.) desired.

 

Experience with supervision of staff, basic HR policies and procedures.

 

Schedule

 

Travel within the state with some overnight stays to implement programming and assist/educate/monitor and provide project support to grant personnel and Extension Educators.

 

Out-of-state travel required for conferences and meetings.

 

Some nights and weekends.
