Position Description
The University of Nevada Reno (UNR) is seeking a dedicated Extension Educator to serve as the vital link between university research and practical solutions for local families, farmers, and youth in Lincoln County, Nevada.
The position will perform community education and outreach with duties that include developing and implementing educational programs, collaborating with county government and local organizations, working directly with families, youth, local ranchers and farmers and providing expertise in agriculture, as well as health and nutrition.
The position will also create and implement programming in youth development, with duties that include overseeing 4-H program and staff and developing youth programs that build skills and community connections.
The Educator will manage the Lincoln County Extension office, conduct research, present at professional meetings and publish in relevant journals. The position is also expected to travel frequently throughout Nevada for statewide Extension efforts

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Agriculture, Youth and Family Development, Rural Sociology, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in: • Working with county government on budgeting and program development • Building community partnerships and collaborations • Youth development and 4-H program leadership • Community needs assessments and program evaluation • Grant writing and fundraising • Statistical analysis for program improvement • Agricultural business development and marketing
