Position Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for Early Childhood Education Coordinators with Extension. Three positions are located in Las Vegas, NV while three are located in Reno, NV. The primary focus of this position is to teach, instruct and coach participants in various early childhood education programs serving children from birth to 5. The position takes the lead on developing and implementing educational programs and curriculum for programming such as the CDA (Child Development Associate credential) coursework for the infant-toddler teachers, Nevada READY! program for Pre-K teachers and Early Childhood Workforce Development programming for early childhood professionals.  This position manages their specific program responsibilities to include logistics, registration, and marketing; collaborating with community partners to enhance programming; cultivating professional relationships within the early childhood education profession; and conducting assessments, documenting activities, evaluating programs, and reporting outcomes.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two years of related work experience or a Master’s degree and one year of related work experience. Related experience: in early childhood education to include both classroom teaching and administration and experience in adult education or a related field

Other Requirements

Certification and Licensure: If not currently certified, the following must be completed within 60 days of employment: Nevada Registry Approval Trainer (certificate) Professional Development Specialist Approved by the CDA Council (certificate) if working with the CDA Program Approved Trainer by the Nevada Registry to teach “Reducing the Risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (certificate)

Travel Requirements

Work primarily Monday –Friday with some evening and weekend work. Will use own vehicle for travel around Clark County. Will be reimbursed for travel expenses.
