Position Description

College of Agricultural, Consumer & Environmental Sciences, Department of Extension Family & Consumer Sciences at New Mexico State University announces the opening of an Extension Specialist/Food Technology. This is a 12-month, tenure track position with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. A Ph.D. in Food Science/Technology, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural/Biological Engineering, or closely related field in hand by date of hire. Preferred qualifications:  The candidate should be able to serve as a process authority to food manufacturing enterprises in the state of NM; have experience working with state and federal food safety related agencies. This position will provide guidance and support to food companies, both new and existing, on food safety regulations and processing and handling practices, including serving as the process authority to food manufacturing enterprises in the state.

Position has statewide responsibilities, travel is required in this position and may require working evenings or weekends. Personal auto required, reimbursed at IRS rate.

 

 

 

Required Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Food Science/Technology, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural/Biological Engineering, or closely related field in hand by date of hire.
