Position Description

The Department of Extension Animal & Natural Resources at NMSU is searching for an Extension Agricultural Legal & Policy Specialist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.  The Legal and Policy Specialist will develop and implement an effective Extension education program on legal topics relevant to agricultural producers and natural resources managers; interpret and disseminate relevant legal interpretations of statutes, regulation, policy and case law for practical use by clientele through mass media, publications stakeholder meetings, symposia, and other proven Extension methods.

Required Qualifications

Law degree (JD) and an agricultural degree required. Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree preferred in Animal Science, Natural Resources, Agricultural Economics, or closely related field.
