Position Overview

This position provides leadership to MSU Extension Nutrition and Physical Activity program and paraprofessional staff by leading efforts related to the recruitment and initial onboarding of new staff and oversees continuing education and development for existing staff.

 

You will learn grant compliance requirements, approved curriculum, and policy, system, and environmental change strategies to allow you to effectively coach staff in implementing appropriate nutrition and physical activity education. You will be responsible for guiding and coaching staff as they implement and evaluate the multiple Supplemental Nutrition and Physical Activity Program Education (SNAP-Ed) approaches, including direct and indirect education and policy, system, and environmental change efforts within the community.

 

You will work with staff and identify community partners to implement policy, systems, and environmental change opportunities, while providing policy, systems, and environmental change coaching with partners in the community.

 

Although negotiable, there will be space available for this position to work from the Kalamazoo or Ionia County MSU Extension office.

This position may be eligible to utilize a flexible environment, however, there is an expectation to work from a MSU Extension county office.

 

The needs, responsibilities, and opportunities of an individual’s position and office location drive the ability and amount of work-location flexibility.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications (see full description for complete list of requirements)

Master’s degree related to human resources/staff development and/or management, nutrition, health promotion, kinesiology, exercise science, or public health.
