Position Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Community-Based Recovery Programs Coordinator with Extension located in Las Vegas, NV. The Program Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative oversight and support for program operations, including coordinating events, managing documentation, maintaining databases, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. They will develop, plan, implement, and manage health and nutrition-related programming and activities in community-based recovery settings where individuals attend treatment, education, and programming for substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health services to facilitate a healthy, sustainable recovery and reduce recidivism. The coordinator will connect and collaborate with external organizations (e.g., Vegas Stronger, Recovery Friendly Workplaces, Westcare, Foundation for Recovery etc.), SUD treatment providers both in-patient and outpatient, alternative sentencing programs, mental health facilities and hospitals, transitional housing and group homes, alternative schools, etc. to identify needs and provide programming and resources and to engage clients in healthy, sustainable recovery practices. They serve as the primary point of contact for program inquiries, facilitating communication between stakeholders, participants, and leadership while developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external partners. Additionally, the coordinator implements outreach strategies to promote program visibility, manages internship recruitment efforts, and coordinates program activities, including orientations, meetings, trainings, and special events.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of related work experience; OR Master’s degree and one (2) years of related work experience Related Experience: Community partnerships and implementation of community-based programs and Social Work or Public Administration, mental Health and/or Nutrition Schedule and Travel Requirements Regular travel throughout Clark County is required for this position. Occasional overnight travel. Variable schedule, may require evenings and weekends
