Position Summary:

 

The University of Idaho Extension 4-H Youth Development Unit seeks a 12-month, 4-H Youth Development Extension Specialist as tenure track Assistant or a tenure track/tenured Associate Professor. The position is 70% Extension, 25% scholarship, and 5% service, with statewide leadership in program delivery, professional development, curriculum, grants, evaluation, strategic planning, and compliance. The successful candidate will build a nationally recognized youth development research and Extension program and secure external funding. Rank and tenure is negotiable based on how the candidate meets the requirements of college bylaws as well as qualifications and experience.

Minimum Education/Degree Required:

 

Listed degree qualification is required at time of application.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• Doctoral degree in youth or human development, health and nutrition, education, social work, agriculture, or a related field to the domain of the position.

• 3 years of full-time professional experience relevant to youth or human development, education, or social work.

• Experience with oral, written, interpersonal, and information technology communication.

• Experience working collaboratively as a team member with families, volunteers, youth leaders, community collaborators, academic and programmatic staff, and other stakeholders.

• Experience developing and administering evaluation or assessment tools.

• Experience securing programmatic funding either through grant writing, significant donations, or gifts.

• Experience with conducting research and evaluation of projects.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Professional experience with 4-H youth development programs.

• Experience with progressive, innovative, and effective program leadership management.

• Experience leading professional development for others, teaching and working with youth.

• Experience teaching and working with youth in a formal setting or experiential style.

 

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

 

• Flexible work schedule, including occasional weekends, willingness to travel, and possess a valid driver’s license

• Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move 35 lbs
