Frequently Asked Questions

Job Seekers

A: Jobs postings are active for 30 days, or until a posting is removed by whomever posted it -- whichever comes first. After that point, job postings are no longer available for view.
A: You will have to contact the job poster yourself. Make sure you've following the application instructions, and then email or call the contact person to follow-up.
A: Job posters are responsible for the accuracy of their own postings. You can, however, email the contact person for the announcement about the error.
A: Please use the "Contact Us" form and provide your name, email address, and a summary of the problem. During the work week (excluding holidays), you can expect a response within 24 hours.

Employers

A: Basically, we will post jobs that aren't affiliated with commercial companies. Jobs with educational institutions, government, and non-profits, as specified in the terms of service, are welcome.
A: To post for longer than 30 days, you will need to renew the posting and submit payment after the first posting expires.
A: You can set an expiration day short of 30 days from the time your submit payment. When that expiration date arrives, your posting will be removed. However, because you have paid for 30 days, you will have the option to reactivate the posting for the remainder of that time.
A: No. Due to the nature of our system, we are unable to calculate fees on a per-day basis.
A: We prefer payment via credit card. However, if that option is not available, you can make special arrangements to be invoiced for job postings. (Note, however, that any jobs posted in this way will not be activedly instantly as they would be when paying by credit card.) Please use the "Contact Us" form to request more information about this option.
A: The job announcement will be saved in our system, but only you will be able to see the job announcement. You can later choose to activate that job announcement by submitting payment or to delete the job posting.
A: If you need to adjust an active job posting or end an active posting before the deadline you originally set, you can log back in to make your changes. The responsibility for accuracy is entirely yours, and you are allowed to make changes at any time.
A: According to our Terms of Service, available at http://jobs.joe.org/terms.php, an organization is entitled to post a single job announcement online for up to 30 days per $150 payment. Listing multiple jobs over the duration of a posting is regarded an abuse of our service. A single job announcement can be posted for multiple positions but you must pay based on the number of positions listed in the announcement. Currently, you must contact us at jobbank@joe.org to arrange a posting with multiple positions.
