The Youth, Families, & Communities Program Academic Coordinator II is responsible for coordinating innovative, multi-disciplinary programs to support public health, community wellbeing, and financial literacy in San Luis Obispo County, Santa Barbara County, and throughout the state. Responsibilities include demonstrating regional and statewide program impacts, regional program administration, staff supervision, fund generation, fund coordination, University and Public Service, as well as demonstrated professional competence through development and dissemination of scholarly peer-reviewed journal articles and conference presentations.Counties of Responsibility. This position is focused on youth, families and communities in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties, with responsibilities for statewide efforts in financial literacy.Reporting Relationship: The Academic Coordinator serves under the administrative and programmatic guidance of the Youth, Families, and Communities Advisor in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties.This is not an academic career-track appointment. This position is funded for one year with the possibility of renewal based on performance and availability of funding. The performance in this position will be evaluated annually. The merit cycle for this position will be evaluated every two (2) years.Salary: The beginning salary will be in the Academic Coordinator II series and commensurate with applicable experience and professional qualifications. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the University of California Cooperative Extension Knowledge of policy, systems and environmental changes in support of community health Knowledge of food security and nutrition Experience in SNAP-Ed, Master Food Preserver Program, and/or 4-H Youth Development Experience in financial literacy and maximizing household resources Bilingual Fluency (Spanish & English)

Minimum education level :
A minimum of a Master's degree in public health, community development, or related field is required at the time of appointment. The following qualifications are required: excellent organizational, management and interpersonal skills; successful project management experience in an academic setting (e.g. Cooperative Extension).
