TheOSUAgricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Extension program invites applications for a full-time (1.00FTE), 12-month, fixed-term Assistant Professor of Practice position in the Department of Animal and Rangeland Sciences. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Western Regional Director and the Program Leader.This Assistant Professor of Practice position is stationed in Dallas, Oregon and will serve the following counties in the Oregon Willamette Valley: Lane, Linn, Benton, Polk, Marion, Yamhill, Washington, and Clackamas; as well as Lincoln County. Its academic home is the Department of Animal and Rangeland Sciences in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University. Active contributions to scholarship are required (see the scholarship duties section, below, for details).As a land grant institution committed to teaching, research, and outreach and engagement, Oregon State University (OSU) promotes economic, social, cultural and environmental progress for the people of Oregon, the nation and the world. This position contributes to the mission of the College of Agricultural Sciences, with principal responsibility for needs assessment; Extension educational program development, delivery, and evaluation; and conducting applied research to support Extension activities.This faculty position is responsible for the Forage/Livestock Extension programs in the Willamette Valley including Lincoln County. This faculty member will provide leadership in teaching, communication, and programming for rangeland, livestock, forage, and natural resources using research-based information. This faculty member will provide educational materials and programs and participate in statewide and regional activities through appropriate working groups in the College.Oregon State University is committed to state-of-the-science interaction and engagement of partners and stakeholders. This faculty member is required to use modern learning tools including online and hybrid classes, to employ and practice engaged scholarship, to promote integration of programs across disciplines that are demand-driven, and to use open-source tools that align with innovation and shifts in educational program delivery.This position will require traveling, among counties and other times throughout the state with occasional overnight stays and evening and weekend work as appropriate.
