Description:
OverviewUtah State University Extension invites applications for a County Extension tenure track faculty position. Extension faculty develop, provide, evaluate, and coordinate research-based educational programs for youth and adults. Extension faculty also recruit, train and supervise volunteer leaders and serve as a liaison between local clientele, other resource agencies, and Utah State University administrators, faculty, and programs. This Extension position has Iron County and university responsibilities. An office will be provided at the USU Extension office in Cedar City.Iron County is located in beautiful southern Utah. Cedar City is the largest city in Iron County and is home to Southern Utah University and the world famous Utah Shakespeare Festival. There are numerous outdoor recreation opportunities including skiing (Brian Head ski resort), and short drives to National Parks. We welcome candidates with diverse interests related to Agriculture and Natural Resource Programs.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education level :
An earned master's degree in the areas of range science, agronomy, animal science, Extension Education, or other closely related agricultural fields
Years of experience :
Minimum Qualifications:-An earned master's degree in the areas of range science, agronomy, animal science, Extension Education, or other closely related agricultural fields-Ability to plan, organize and direct educational programs-Experience in teaching adult audiences-Excellent oral and written English communication skills-Ability to act as a liaison between federal, state, university officials/administration, and county clientele-Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member Preferred Qualifications:-Experience with program development and/or delivery related to agriculture programs-Experience with program development and/or delivery related to livestock production, range management, and crop production-Experience with program development and/or delivery related to 4-H youth livestock and horse programsSkills and experience with:-Implementing applied research activities-Grant writing-Recruiting, supervising, and working with volunteers-Low income and under-served audiences-Social media-Developing on-line courses and managing websites-Related organizations/agencies and fostering positive relationships with community stakeholders-Prior experience with the Land Grant University System-Ability to converse and write in the Spanish language
