Description:
As part of MSU Extensions Health and Nutrition Institute (HNI), this position provides local and statewide leadership and educational programming expertise in the area of Policy, Systems and Environmental (PSE) change initiatives and Food Security. This position is responsible for assessment of community health needs, implementation of evidence-based programs, designing and evaluating change initiatives based on applied research and program evaluation methods, and ensuring dissemination of research-based information through various methods, including multi-media, presentations and written articles.Working as the PSE/food security educator you will be part of the Nutrition and Physical Activity (NPA) work team. You will provide leadership in the development, implementation, training, coaching and evaluation of evidence- based and research informed strategies that are intended to encourage healthy eating, physical activity and improved food access among limited resourced individuals across Michigan communities. You will also be responsible for ensuring the needs and goals of MSU Extension, HNI, and our grantors - SNAP-Ed (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education) and EFNEP (Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program), are being met. By supporting and coaching of programming staff, delivery of local PSE change initiatives within MSUE District 6 (Clare, Gladwin, Isabella, Mecosta, Missaukee, Osceola and Wexford counties), and working with programming staff, coordinators, HNI leadership, and district directors across the state, you will make certain the needs of the clientele are being met, and strategies are in alignment with funder and/or MSU Extension/HNI expectations.This position will work from one of the MSU Extension County offices located in Clare, Osceola, Mecosta or Wexford.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education level :
Masters degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to public health, health science, nutrition, dietetics, counseling, nursing or a related health field of study, by date of hire.
