Description:
This continuing eligible (faculty appointment, tenure equivalent) Assistant/Associate Extension Agent position in 4-H Youth Development is part of a dynamic team of professionals developing and delivering research-based, objective, informal education to youth and families in Pima County, Arizona (https://extension.arizona.edu/4h). This position will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop leadership and promote healthy lifestyles and communities with a strategic emphasis on reaching underserved youth audiences in both urban and rural settings. This is a continuing eligible position that provides youth in the county with non-formal educational opportunities designed to help them develop into competent, confident, and caring individuals who contribute to their community and demonstrate the character to be a responsible citizen. The person in this position will develop, conduct, and evaluate programs addressing priority needs identified through needs assessments, including developing mentoring and volunteer opportunities for youth with local businesses and community organizations; must be able to work with diverse clientele and colleagues, and be able to employ a variety of teaching methods; and promote the personal growth and development of youth by providing appropriate programming through recruitment, certification, training, development and discipline of 4-H Volunteer Leaders. Specifically, the person in this position is responsible for the program development, curriculum identification, and subject matter training for a designated group of projects, which may include horses, dogs, shooting sports, and 4-H related Family and Consumer Sciences and home arts projects.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education level :
A Master's Degree related to youth development, education, social work, leadership, or other related fields.
Years of experience :
Two years applicable professional experience.
Travel Requirements:
Ability to travel regionally and nationally.
Other Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate educational programming.High competency in the subject matter of youth development and people-related skills such as teaching, problem analysis, conflict management, communications, human relations, and leadership development.
