Description:
The key responsibilities for the position are below. 50% - Event CoordinationCoordinate or co-coordinate all state-wide animal, livestock, and workforce development events. Coordinate or co-coordinate the South Dakota 4-H delegations to several national competitions and events. 40% - Project and Relationship Development Strengthen the investment of Extension staff, campus departments, volunteers, supporters, and donors in the mission area. Develop and provide new opportunities for connecting agriculture and workforce development. 10% - Professional Development and 4-H SupportPursue continuous improvement in areas of expertise. Contribute to state 4-H program goals and objectives.

Additional Description, Instructions or Comments:
Coordinator will be responsible for educational development, teaching resources and logistics related to South Dakota 4-H projects and career skill events and activities. The 4-H Agri-Workforce Coordinator supports the SDSU Extension mission, strategic vision and planning assumptions, complies with applicable federal and state laws and regulations, and all University policies, including Affirmative Action, and commits to the inclusion of diverse South Dakotan's.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education level :
Bachelors Degree in Operations Management, Communications, Career and Technical Education, Agriculture, Human/Youth Development/Child Development, Education, Animal Science, or a closely related field completed by first day of employment OR completed by date of application;
Years of experience :
Less than 1 year.
Travel Requirements:
Travel, overnight stays, Weekends/Holidays.Occasionally scheduled irregular work hours (A few times a month.)
Other Requirements:
Ability to lead and teach groups. Develop grants and/or cost recovery mechanisms to assist with program sustainability. Must be able to use a personal computer for word processing, internet based programs, social media, and email. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess a valid drivers license or be able to obtain within 30 days of employment.
