The Department of Agriculture, Veterinary, and Rangeland Sciences is seeking to fill two faculty positions: Assistant/Associate Professor in Rangeland Ecology & Management; and Assistant Professor in Rangeland Ecology & Management. Both positions are 9-month, tenure-track appointments in the Department of Agriculture, Veterinary, and Rangeland Sciences at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). Summer salary is dependent upon availability of research and Extension grants. We are seeking rangeland scientists/ecologists dedicated to educating, advising, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in rangeland science and related fields. The Assistant/Associate position will consist of teaching, research and extension, while the Assistant position will consist of teaching, research, and service/outreach. Both positions have anticipated start dates of January 1, 2020. The University of Nevada, Reno recognized that diversity promotes excellence in education and research. Minimum education level :
Required Qualifications: 1)A completed Ph.D. in Rangeland Ecology and Management or similar discipline is required. 2)Working knowledge, field experience, and training in ecology and management of rangelands and other natural resources.3)Demonstrated publication record.

Preferred Qualifications: 1)Teaching experience in rangeland ecology or related fields such as fire ecology, range-livestock interactions, and soils will be valued.2)Teaching using more than one delivery method.3)Demonstrated ability to work productively with land management agencies and various stakeholder groups. 4)Demonstrated ability to articulate natural resource science and management within and outside the classroom to diverse audiences.5)Ability to develop an innovative range management/natural resource extension or outreach program throughout the state of Nevada and beyond.6)Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.7)Experience in obtaining extramural grant funding for research and Extension/Outreach support.
