The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Wyoming is seeking applicants for a lecturer position focused on agribusiness and agricultural economics. Preferred candidates will have expertise in one or more fields, including but not limited to: farm/ranch or agribusiness management, marketing, sales, banking, finance, economic decision-making, or related subject areas. This full-time, 9-month appointment will have responsibilities for teaching (95%) and service (5%). The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses to help the department maintain core capacities within the Agribusiness, Farm and Ranch Management, International Agriculture, and Livestock Business Management degree options. The University and State of Wyoming are committed to elevating the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources to a position of regional and national leadership in agricultural education, outreach and research related to western agricultural systems. Outgoing governor Matt Mead included the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources in his budget recommendations, stating Agriculture is integral to Wyomings history, culture and economy. The Excellence in Agricultural Education and Research initiative will support equine studies, forestry management, ranching and land management, and rodeo competitiveness. As one of the largest degree programs in the College, Agricultural and Applied Economics is well-poised for growth over the next decade.

Minimum education level :
A Masters degree in agricultural economics or related area is required with an emphasis in farm or agribusiness management, marketing, sales, banking, or finance. Candidates must be committed to undergraduate education.

A demonstrated background and practical teaching experience in either formal (such as: traditional classroom instruction) or informal (such as: extension education, adult audiences, industry training, etc.) settings is highly preferred. Preference will also be given to applicants with:Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate students.Ability to effectively interact with students, faculty and staff, and external partners (such as alumni or industry representatives).Demonstrated ability to organize and present information in oral and written forms.Interest and/or experience in distance learning/education.A demonstrated ability to communicate via public, semi-technical or scholarly publications.Familiarity with western agricultural systems.
