Organization Description:Oklahoma Cooperation Extension Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (OCES) county educators and area, district and state specialists develop science-based educational programs to help Oklahomans solve local issues and concerns, promote leadership and manage resources wisely. Programs focus on:*Increasing opportunities for agricultural enterprises *Natural resources and environmental management *Food, nutrition, health and safety education*Youth, family and community development.The OCES represents a federal, state, and county partnership working since 1914. It employs more than 500 faculty, professional, and support staff in more than 80 locations throughout Oklahoma, including the Oklahoma State University campus. Nature of Position.This is a full-time 12-month appointment. The incumbent is administratively accountable to the Vice President, Dean and Director, Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, through the Associate Vice President of the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service. This position is located in Enid, Oklahoma and provides administrative leadership for counties which comprise the West Extension District.General Responsibilities* Personnel and fiscal management, budget development, performance evaluation, employee relations, staff recruitment and development, and public relations/marketing. * Leadership for the members of the district team, which includes area specialists, district program specialists and county educators. * Ensure high quality extension programs in cooperation with appropriate Extension and research leaders by overseeing all phases of program planning, implementation, evaluation and fund development. * Assure compliance regarding nondiscrimination and equal opportunity in employment and program delivery. * Provide career, professional, and personal development opportunities for employees. * Serve as a facilitator with Extension educators and county budget decision-makers to fund Extension personnel and programs. * Support close working relationships with advisory committees, county commissioners, commodity groups, and other users of Extension programs as well as OSU administrators, department chairs, center directors, program leaders, human resource director, sponsored programs office, OSU Foundation and others.* Actively contribute as part of the Extension administrative team to facilitate statewide leadership and management uniformity across the extension districts. * Day to day interaction with state administrators regarding personnel and fiscal matters. * Assume other duties as necessary due to vacancies or for other reasons as assigned by the office of the Associate Vice President.Additionally, this individual is expected to: * Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, etc., related to equal opportunity, civil rights, and affirmative action. * Travel throughout the district, state, and occasionally out-of-state. Travel budget provided. * OCES professionals are hired into the organization not a specific geographical location. ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education level :
Master's degree. A least one degree in Agriculture, Family & Consumer Sciences, or in an area related to Extension Education or Administration.
Years of experience :
Masters degree with at least one degree in Agriculture, Family & Consumer Sciences, or in an area related to Extension Education or Administration; Seven (7) or more years of successful progressively responsible professional work experience with a minimum of five (5) years of Cooperative Extension work. Prior successful work experiences utilizing personnel and fiscal management and supervision is required. Leadership roles and interaction with governmental and public agency officials is desirable.
Travel Requirements:
Requires travel within assigned district. Occasional overnight travel is required. Travel budget provided.

* Ability to provide strong visionary and progressive administrative leadership.* Substantial knowledge and understanding of Extension organization, operation, philosophy and objectives.* Demonstrated abilities in planning, organizing, budgeting, personnel management, motivating employees and team building.* Demonstrated high levels of competency in human relations and communications. * Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities, situations, and day-to-day demands.* Evidence of ability to build and maintain relationships and work effectively with clientele, advisory groups, volunteer leaders, faculty, staff and the public. * Knowledge and proficiency in use of technology to support program delivery, training and staff development. * A commitment to the continuation of personal professional development.
