Job SummaryThe Extension Agent, WVSU Healthy Grandfamilies Program is a professional educator who will oversee projects/activities of the WVSUHGP and will be responsible for planning, delivery, and evaluation of non-traditional community based educational programming of particular interest to West Virginias grandparents who are raising grandchildren. Working with the WVSUHGP Specialist and identified partners, stakeholders and community experts throughout all 55 counties in West Virginia, the agent will be responsible for providing trainings, social service resources, informational updates, and other technical supports in the following topics: Parenting in the 21st Century, Communication Techniques, Family Relationships, Healthy Lifestyles, Stress Management, Social Media, Navigating County School Systems, Legal Assistance, Nutrition, Family Response to Addiction and Trauma Informed Care.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education level :
Education and/or ExperienceA Bachelor's degree is required, Masters preferred in one of the following fields: family life, social work, nutrition and education.
Years of experience :
The successful candidate will have the ability to be flexible, will have strong written and oral communication and customer service skills, and experience in working with diverse clientele and organizations.
Travel Requirements:
Travel state-wide but may also include various portions of the United States based on attendance requirements for training, professional development and presentation opportunities.
Other Requirements:
Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual will be proficient in Microsoft Office, various search engines, utilize social media, maintain a webpage, and have intermediate knowledge of database software, Internet software, and word processing software.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
