The Southern District is seeking applications for an Associate Extension Educator, (Instructor/Sr. Instructor), with an emphasis on 4-H Youth Development.The Educator/Instructor will provide leadership, instruction and support for 4-H Youth Development programs focusing on underserved and minority audiences in Canyon/Ada and surrounding counties, with Latinx youth and adults being the primary target audiences. The Extension Educator/Instructor will plan, develop, implement, evaluate and report 4-H Youth Development programs (100%) with an emphasis on 4-H science and life skills programming. The Educator/Instructor will provide assistance in university outreach where appropriate.

Minimum education level :
Bachelors degree related to education or youth development is required by date of hire.

Must be willing and able to travel and to participate in evening and weekend programs.
Other Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of Hispanic culture and ability to communicate in Spanish, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated competency in people-related skills such as teaching, problem solving, communication, conflict management, relationship building and leadership development. Ability to work well in a team, provide effective leadership. Ability to communicate (verbal, written, listening, public speaking/presentation skills). Ability to recruit, teach, and manage volunteers. Computer literacy as demonstrated by the use of technology in programming. Ability to meet the expectations and requirements of the rank of Instructor and/or Senior Instructor. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated experience working directly with diverse youth and adult audiences, especially Latinx. Experience partnering with community organizations to provide educational experiences to diverse youth audiences. Demonstrated ability to design innovative and effective educational programs in response to local needs; implement programs and evaluate their effectiveness. Knowledge of Canyon and Ada Counties and the surrounding area. Experience in fund raising, grantsmanship, and cost recovery efforts. Demonstrated ability to effectively use social and print media for marketing and promoting programs.
