As part of MSU Extension (MSUE) and the Health and Nutrition Institute, this position provides local and statewide leadership and educational programming expertise in alignment with community behavioral health programming with a focus in the farm stress initiatives. Community behavior health deals with system changes, policies, and environmental changes of communities and institutions. This position may work with faculty, specialists and educators for advancement of the needs of the Institute clientele; designs, implements and evaluates programming based on basic and applied research and the needs of clientele groups; ensures dissemination of research-based information through various methods, including multi-media, direct education and written articles; and serves as an informational resource for Extension personnel and clientele. Goals of the MSU Extension Community Behavioral Health program area includes being responsive to mental health and substance use needs across the state and promoting behavioral health literacy within Extension and across Michigan communities. Behavioral health literacy means knowledge about mental health and substance use issues, knowledge and promotion of available resources to help, how to communicate with someone experiencingmental health or substance use issues, and lessening stigma. This position will be based out of one of the MSU Extension offices located in district 6 that includes Clare, Gladwin, Isabella, Mecosta, Missaukee, Osceola and Wexford.

Minimum education level :
Masters degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to human development, family studies, psychology, sociology, public health, or related field must be earned by date of hire.
