Washington State University Extension Snohomish County 4-H Youth Development Assistant Professor (full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position. The WSU Extension Youth and Families Program Unit is seeking a dynamic, inspired, and highly qualified professional to provide leadership, vision, educational programming, planning, development, implementation, and direction of the Snohomish County 4-H Positive Youth Development program in collaboration with staff, volunteers, youth, partners, and the community.

Minimum education level :
Earned Masters degree in youth development, social sciences, family and consumer sciences, human development, guidance and counseling, leadership development, volunteer development, education, or an appropriate field of study at the time of application.
Years of experience :
Two years of experience working effectively with volunteers, adults and youth, in developing, delivering, and managing programs for youth. Documented experience in volunteer management i.e., recruitment, placement, education, recognition, conflict resolution, and retention. Ability to communicate ideas effectively through written, verbal, and technology when relating to a variety of audiences.

Preferred: Ph.D. in social sciences, human development, youth development, guidance and counseling, leadership development, volunteer development, education, or closely related discipline. Demonstrated record of achievement in scholarship that disseminates innovative approaches and methods in measurable program impacts. Demonstrated record of extramural fund development, including the ability to write successful grant proposals and manage grant awards. Competency in using electronic outreach methods and equipment for extension and daily work activities. Experience in leadership; conflict resolution; group facilitation; and the development, delivery, and evaluation of programs. Experience in budgeting, financial planning, personnel management, strategic planning and critical decision-making. Demonstrated ability in conducting applied research involving positive youth development or volunteerism. Experience with 4-H delivery methods, including an understanding of youth and adult learning theory, experiential education and needs assessments. Language skills in non-English languages used in the counties (e.g., Spanish, Russian, etc.). Capacity and willingness to engage diverse constituents from varying socioeconomic and ethnic groups in education programs. Demonstrated cultural competency skills and a commitment to expanding and fostering diversity in program reach for positive youth development.
