Description:
The Mississippi State University Extension Service, Office of Nutrition Education is accepting applications for two Registered Dietitian (RD) positions in Biloxi and Raymond. The RD will be part of a team that is responsible for the implementation of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) and Expanded Food and Nutrition Program (EFNEP) strategic plans. The regional RD will coordinate the policy, systems and environmental efforts in the Coastal and Central regions of the state for SNAP-Ed. The regional RD will oversee a team of community wellness planners and nutrition educators and serve in both an administrative and programmatic capacity. ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education level :
Bachelor of Science and Master's degree in Nutrition or closely related field with three years of experience in community nutrition implementation or other related experience and/or education.Substitution allowed for education: When applicant lacks the required degrees, applicant must have a Bachelor's degree and appropriate, related experience may apply toward degree requirement at a rate of one (1) year of relevant experience per year of required education.Registered Dietitian credential, or applicant must meet the Commission on Dietetic Registration's (CDR) criteria and agree to complete the Registered Dietitian credential examination and obtain RD credential within six (6) months of employment3. ServSafe certification or ability to earn within six (6) months of employment
Years of experience :

Travel Requirements:
Frequent travel to and working in remote/rural areas in the community.Occasional overnight travel, evening and weekend work.
Other Requirements:
Knowledge of the SNAP-Ed and EFNEP programsDemonstrated public speaking skills to explain, advocate, and express facts and ideas in a convincing mannerExperience with evaluation and assessment of nutrition programming Experience and knowledge of policy, systems, and environmental changes
