You will work with high performing teams to create and deliver world class, innovative learning experiences that empower Nebraskans to improve their lives around critical issues.We have an excellent opportunity for a permanent full-time faculty position located in Norfolk, Nebraska and serving northeast Nebraska. We value individuals who are self-directed and able to work in flexible environments. This individual will work in collaboration with four Natural Resources Districts, State and Federal Agencies, and Agribusiness professionals to develop and deliver educational programs for rainfed and irrigated cropping systems programs. The goal is to halt the rising trend of nitrate-nitrogen concentrations in groundwater through implementation of improved technologies and management practices.Required Qualifications:Masters degree required; one degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Mechanization or Ag Engineering with emphasis on irrigated corn and soybean production systems, or closely related field. Masters degree must be completed by start date.Successful experience teaching in a formal and/or informal setting.Demonstrated ability to communicate (i.e. publications, presentations, web, and social media).Experience in working with individuals, coworkers, and teams to accomplish individual and/or group goals, as evidenced by college, career, and/or community activities.Working knowledge of irrigation and nitrogen management for corn and soybean production systems and the use of cover crops for improving soil health.Preferred Qualifications:Outstanding leadership skills as demonstrated by roles in college, career, and/or community activities.Understanding of different ethnic and socioeconomic audiences and a commitment to developing and delivering both inclusive and targeted programming.Successful experience in developing financial support for educational programs including grant writing, fund generation, contracting and/or cost recovery efforts.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and programs.Experience in the development and implementation of social media educational programs, including maintenance of a website, blog, Facebook page, and Twitter and Pinterest accounts for a professional organization.Certified Crop Advisor credentials.Certification for NRD nitrogen management, chemigation, pesticide application, and manure management practices.Demonstrated ability to network with agricultural industry or public agencies.Review of applications will begin December 3, 2018.
