Description:
As part of MSU Extension (MSUE) and the Greening Michigan Institute (GMI), this position provides local and regional (Upper Peninsula) leadership and educational programming expertise while contributing to statewide initiatives in alignment with the MSU Product Center. This position specifically focuses on conducting outreach activities and educational programs to market business development services and provide assistance to businesses in the forestry and agriculture/food sectors to advance value-added products and services. This position represents a 75% Product Center and 25% community development (strengthening of local networks and delivery of other GMI community development-related programming) assignment. Minimum Qualifications (see full description for complete list of requirements)Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) from an accredited institution in a field of study related to business, economics, forestry/natural resources, food marketing or related field. Candidates with a Bachelors degree will complete a Masters degree within a specified time frame as discussed with hiring manager prior to employment; Desired Qualifications3-years experience conducting business counseling and business plan development with food related clients.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education level :
Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) from an accredited institution in a field of study related to business, economics, forestry/natural resources, food marketing or related field. Travel Requirements:
Ability to travel in local and surrounding communities and occasional long distance travel are required.
