The Colorado 4-H website is http://www.colorado4h.org/ PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide leadership, guidance, organization, management, and educational opportunities within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and K-12 (after-school and school enrichment) program areas as part of the CSU Extension 4-H Youth Development team. The individual in this position will work as a member of the Colorado State 4-H Program team to support the delivery of educational efforts across the state. To provide leadership, guidance, organization, management, and educational opportunities within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and K-12 (after-school and school enrichment) program areas as part of the CSU Extension 4-H Youth Development team. The individual in this position will work as a member of the Colorado State 4-H Program team to support the delivery of educational efforts across the state.

Additional Description, Instructions or Comments:
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Program Leadership, Management, and Evaluation: 50%Provide statewide leadership and strategic planning for STEM, afterschool and school enrichment programming.Provide leadership for the 4-H program area STEM and K-12 work teams to support statewide program development, delivery and evaluation efforts. Serve on the CSU Extension 4-H STEM AmeriCorps Program Leadership Team providing guidance and expertise in 4-H Youth Development, STEM, afterschool, program evaluation, data collection, and reporting. Provide leadership on positive youth development, experiential learning, essential elements of youth development, and other frameworks for effective 4-H program delivery.Deliver informal teaching materials, seminars, workshops, meetings, and demonstrations to targeted audiences (adults and youth) and develop resources for STEM Maker trailer and STEM kits.Develop STEM-related curricula for informational and educational purposes. Evaluate and document expected results and statewide impacts of educational programs on targeted audiences. *Note: % of job assigned to this duty may be changed as the program develops.Initiate and Develop Relationships and Partnerships: 40% Build collaborative relationships within the CSU community and others agencies and organizations in the STEM and K-12 fields in order to advance these educational efforts.Establish and maintain relationships with Extension agents, 4-H specialists, and campus faculty, to plan, execute, and evaluate educational programs at county and state levels in STEM and afterschool. Actively participate as a member of the Colorado Afterschool Partnership.Serve as Colorado 4-H STEM liaison to 4-H National Headquarters. Serve as the Colorado 4-H Afterschool Programs liaison to 4-H National Headquarters. Collaborate with CSU and community partners on grants, contracts, and other funding to support STEM and afterschool programs. *Note: % of job assigned to this duty may be changed as the program develops.Administration: 10%Responsible for program-related grants made available and awarded through various sources including National 4-H Council. Includes grant writing, serving as principle investigator, managing budgets, and providing guidance/supervision of staff working directly on grant duties.Responsible for STEM account and related grant funds housed with the Colorado 4-H Foundation.*Note: % of job assigned to this duty may be changed as the program develops.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education level :
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREDCompleted masters degree. Degree(s) may have been awarded in a number of different areas, but must provide abroad and significant understanding of youth development, education, Extension education, and/or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).Evidence of knowledge, experience, and interest in STEM education. Demonstrated commitment to and success in working with diverse audiences; this may include but is not limited to persistent effort, intentional programming, community engagement, allocation of resources and/or accountability for diversity outcomes.Demonstrated skill working with people as individuals and in groups, ability to forge equitable and successful partnerships with other professionals and organizations, and to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.Demonstrated leadership ability. Ability to communicate through teaching, public speaking/presentation and writing as demonstrated through application materials and experience. Evidence of drive and initiative. Demonstrated use of technology in managing and/or delivering educational programs. Must have access to personal transportation and be able to travel when necessary, to provide support to county Extension programs, participate in collaborative work with committees and other organizations, and attend national meetings and conferences. Must have a valid drivers license or the ability to obtain a drivers license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.
Years of experience :
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Extension and/or 4-H youth development experience. Experience delivering educational programs in an after-school or other out-of-school time setting. Experience working in a K-12 public school setting.Knowledge of K-12 educational standards. Successful experience developing financial support for educational programs including grant writing, fund raising, contracting or cost recovery efforts. Experience in personnel and program management. Experience or course work in audience needs identification, program development, experiential learning and evaluating results of programs. Ability to speak Spanish.

Available personal transportation required, travel allowance provided.
