The Area County Extension Agent is a member of the Extension staff of Clemson University. The area agronomic agent is responsible for working cooperatively with other county and state staff to plan, implement, maintain and evaluate Extension education programs for county, region, and state adult/youth clientele. The area of focus for this program will include providing expertise and leadership in educational programming for adults in agronomic crop production. The agent will be responsible for all aspects of crop production education. The responsibilities will include Integrated Crop Management, Pesticide Education and Licensing as well as marketing and any other relevant agronomic areas. The major crops will be cotton, peanut, corn, soybean and small grains production. In addition to these responsibilities, the County Extension Agent will provide expertise and leadership in educational programs and assistance to limited resource producers. They will also assist the 4-H Agent and Volunteer 4-H leaders in providing resources and materials for 4-H agriculture interest clubs. The performance of the assigned responsibilities is governed by the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service.1. Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic crop managementeducational programs for Hampton & Allendale Counties to include cotton, peanut, corn, soybean and small grains. 2. Cooperate with other staff members to prepare an annual planof work in agronomic and horticultural crop production and toimplement a county Extension education program in the identified areas.Teach both adults and 4-H youth through personal visitation, groupmeetings, tours, demonstrations, mass media, and volunteer leadertrainings. 3. Responsible for all Civil Rights compliance and other reporting procedures.
