The National Job Bank is operated by Extension Journal, Inc., a non-profit organization established to maintain the Journal of Extension.

 

History of the National Job Bank

The National Job Bank was started in 1994 by the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES), USDA to alert professionals in research, education, and extension of employment opportunities nationwide. 

The Job Bank migrated to the Internet in 1997 and has been a web-based system since that time. 

In 2003, CSREES offered hosting of the National Job Bank to the Extension Journal, Inc., improving technological capacity and marketing potential. The current National Job Bank was launched in November 2003.
